Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the Expensa mobile application operated by Piyush Shende ("Connect U").

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Expensa application, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to all of these terms, please do not download, install, or use the application.

2. Description of Application & Scope of Services

Expensa is a personal finance management, budget planning, expense tracking, and group ledger organization software. Services include:

• Offline Expense & Income Management: Local logging of transaction records, multi-wallet accounts, custom category tags, and budget targets.
• Auto-Ingest Bank SMS Expenses: Optional opt-in feature that uses on-device Machine Learning to parse incoming bank transaction SMS alerts and create automated draft transactions. Users remain responsible for reviewing and verifying all auto-parsed transaction entries.
• Group Expense Splitting & Debt Settlement: Shared group expense logging (Splitwise-style), equal/custom split allocations, minimal debt transfer calculations, UPI QR code generation, and WhatsApp summary sharing.
• Tax Planner & Report Generator: Educational Tax Estimator tool (Old vs New Regime for Assessment Year 2026-27), Section 80C/80D/HRA deduction tracking, and PDF summary exports saved to device Documents.
• Local AI Assistant: On-device automated finance assistant providing budget summaries, balance checks, and usage instructions.
• Cloud Sync & Local Network Sync: Optional encrypted backup synchronization to personal Google Drive accounts and peer-to-peer local Wi-Fi ledger sync.

3. Financial & Tax Disclaimer

Expensa is an informational personal organization software tool and NOT a chartered accountancy firm, bank, investment advisor, or tax consultant.

• All calculations (including EMI projections, SIP compounding estimates, Tax Regime comparisons, and Group Debt Simplifications) are automated estimates provided strictly for informational convenience.
• You should consult a certified Chartered Accountant (CA) or professional tax advisor before filing official tax returns (ITR-1 / ITR-4) or making major financial investments.

4. Premium Subscriptions and Billing

Certain advanced analytics, customizable themes, or ad-free experiences within Expensa may require a premium subscription or in-app purchase. All payments and subscription management are processed securely through Google Play Billing in accordance with Google Play's Terms of Service. Subscriptions can be managed or canceled at any time via your Google Play account settings.

5. Data Ownership and Backup Responsibilities

Expensa operates on an offline-first model, meaning your financial ledgers are saved directly on your device's filesystem. While Expensa offers Google Drive Cloud Sync and local PDF/CSV export tools, you remain solely responsible for maintaining backup copies of your important financial records. We are not liable for data loss caused by hardware damage, system resets, OS corruption, or accidental file deletion.

6. User Responsibilities & Acceptable Use

You agree to use Expensa only for lawful personal finance management. You must not attempt to hack, reverse-engineer, decompile, tamper with, or redistribute the application package or its underlying source code.

7. Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Your use of Expensa is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which details our data practices, permissions, on-device SMS parsing rules, and encryption safeguards.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The application is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the application will be uninterrupted, completely error-free, or compatible with every Android device or OS version.

9. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall developer Piyush Shende or Connect U be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including loss of data, business interruption, or tax reporting inaccuracies) arising out of or related to your use or inability to use the application.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
