Q1: What kind of information does Expensa collect?

Expensa primarily stores your transaction data locally on your device. It only accesses permissions like Camera (for receipt scanning), Microphone (for voice ledger input), and Accounts (for secure Google Drive backup sync) when you explicitly request or use those features. We do not sell or share your personal data.

Q2: How do I back up my financial data?

You can back up your database files locally at any time via the Settings menu, or enable Cloud Sync to automatically back up your encrypted transaction database to your personal Google Drive account.

Q3: Is my data safe with Cloud Sync enabled?

Yes, absolutely. When you use Cloud Sync, your backup database is saved in a private app-specific sandbox folder on your own personal Google Drive. No other entity, including the app developers or Google Play, has access to this folder.

Q4: What premium features does Expensa offer?

Premium features include an entirely ad-free experience, advanced budget analytics charts, multiple customized category icons, priority customer support, and automatic recurring sync intervals.

Q5: Can I set reminders for my monthly bills?

Yes. Expensa has a built-in Reminders manager that lets you schedule daily logs, set notifications for recurring utility bills, and get warnings when approaching budget limits.

Q6: Does Expensa support home screen widgets?

Yes! Expensa provides high-quality interactive widgets for your home screen, including a Quick Add widget and a Budget Progress circle tracker, allowing you to log transactions without opening the app.

Q7: How can I secure my financial ledger from local access?

You can enable the Security Lock feature in the settings panel. Expensa fully integrates with your phone's native hardware to support secure Biometric/Fingerprint authentication, Face Unlock, and PIN/Pattern lockouts.

Q8: Can I use Expensa offline?

Yes, offline operation is the core design pillar of Expensa. You can search, add, edit, and analyze transactions entirely offline. Network access is only required for updating Cloud Sync and upgrading premium tiers.

Q9: How do I delete my data?

Uninstalling the app and clearing its local data storage via your device's Android settings will completely wipe all local ledgers. If you have active cloud synchronizations, you can also delete the backup file directly from your Google Drive files.
